The reporter learned from the Municipal Garment Chamber of Commerce that the Shanghai Municipal Economic and Trade Commission, the Garment Merchants Association and the Australian Wool Bureau jointly organized the “Global High-end Men's Wear Cooperation Forum” in Shanghai recently. The forum announced that Wenzhou will create a global high-end men’s manufacturing base.

“Wenzhou already has the conditions to become a global high-end men's manufacturing base.” Zheng Chenai, president of the City Garment Merchants Association, said. The Chamber of Commerce recently carried out international cooperation investigations on 16 Wenzhou senior menswear brand companies such as Xia Meng, Zhongxin Bird, Fapa, Zhuangyi, and Qiaodun. The survey results show that in 2009, the total output value of these 16 high-end menswear enterprises was 9.17 billion yuan. 9.785 million pieces (sets) of senior men's clothing; plant scale reached 738,000 square meters, with a total of 19,068 employees and 495 designers; the average price of 16 main products in the market is 3,807 yuan, and the maximum selling price is up to 12,000 yuan. The output of senior men's wear exceeding 5,000 yuan reached 1.569 million pieces (sets).

At the same time, the top men's wear brands at home and abroad are favored by the menswear manufacturing industry in Wenzhou, and this is one of the strengths that Wenzhou declared to build a menswear base. It is reported that Armani, Ermenegildo Zegna, Versace, Gucci, Teague, Diano and other hundreds of international high-end brands, and Wenzhou menswear manufacturing companies have different levels of cooperation; many high-end men's wear in China also maintain long-term relationship with Wenzhou, such as Nine animal husbandry, Lilang, seven wolves, ** dragon, dragon card and so on.

“A group of international high-end men's wear brands represented by Italy, after as many as hundreds of years of development, has great fashion influence and cultural driving force, but its manufacturing capacity is relatively lagging behind; Wenzhou apparel manufacturing companies rely on process improvement and advanced technology. The improvement of equipment utilization and quality management has shown a rapid development trend and both parties have a strong complementarity. This will be the best time for the upgrade of the apparel industry in Wenzhou.” said Cheng Chen Ai. Take garment production equipment as an example. In recent years, many menswear enterprises in the city have spent huge amounts of money to import internationally advanced equipment such as Germany's Dukpu, US Baifu, and Japan's heavy machinery. The level of manufacturing has increased significantly.

Grasping this historic opportunity to prioritize the development of high-end menswear and create a global high-end menswear manufacturing base on the basis of the existing industry of Wenzhou Menswear will be the only way for the transformation and upgrading of Wenzhou garment industry. Zheng Chen'ai stated that in this historical development node of industrial development, many menswear companies in Wenzhou have actively promoted the development from low-end manufacturing to high-end manufacturing and OEM to ODM (that is, from design to production by the manufacturer, and the products are molded. The purchase of the licensee will increase the added value of the manufacturing industry and further enhance the quality of the high-end manufacturing of men's wear in Wenzhou.

The forum is more explicit. Giving priority to the development of high-end men's clothing will include speeding up cooperation with the world's top brands (including clothing brands, fabric brands, other accessories, and accessories brands). This cooperation with the Australian Wool Bureau is also based on the Bureau. Gathered a large number of high-end men's wear manufacturing necessary worsted fabrics enterprises; promote advanced customization, sublimation "high-end manufacturing" of the gold content, and promote Wenzhou qualified high-end men's garment manufacturing companies to develop high-end clothing custom business.

The forum brought together more than 100 outstanding representatives from the UK, Italy, Australia and Wenzhou. The City Garment Chamber of Commerce also proposed at the forum that it plans to establish a “Global High-end Men’s Leaders Club” for one year and integrate the global high-end men’s brand. All kinds of elite people in the entire industry chain are created to jointly serve the cooperation and development of global high-end men's clothing.
