How to choose black pearls

Distinguish between natural black pearls and cultured black pearls, color black pearls and imitations. Careful observation of the luster of the coated pearl reveals that its pearlescence comes from beneath the thin layer of polymer, while the pearl of the untreated pearl comes from the outermost layer of the pearl. It is also possible to observe the abnormal reflection of the color on the side of the top of the pearl, which also contributes to the detection of such pearls. The color of this pearl is pink tones from the top and blue tones on the sides; the black pearls treated in this way are slightly purple on the top and green on the sides.

colour

Black pearls have different shades of light gray to black, and its beauty lies in the color of the look of the color. Turn the black pearl slowly and you can see that the slight rainbow-like flash is changing. No two pearls are exactly the same. If you see a string of (even a few) dark blacks with uniform color and a faint black pearl, you are almost certain that it is a dyed bead. The color of the dyed beads is sluggish, and the black that accumulates in the holes and squats is deep. This is easily observed under a ten-fold magnifying glass.

shape

Whether the black pearls you see are particularly round, the round black pearls are extremely rare and of high value. Typical black pearls have oblate, pear-shaped, elliptical, irregular shapes, many with enamel or loops, so the "value-for-money black pearls" you see are fluffy and very "round". If it is, it is very likely to be dyed.

size

The diameter of seawater beads in China or Japan is usually no more than nine millimeters, while the diameter of black pearls is at least eight to nine millimeters, so round black pearls smaller than eight millimeters are mostly dyed beads.
